Under the patronage of His Highness the Prince
of the Eastern Province

Ataishan: the patronage of His Highness stresses the centrality of the private sector within
the government Official concern.

bin Saleh Al Ataishan appreciated His
Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz, for his patronage for
"the forum investment opportunities in Qatif", which is organized by Asharqia
Chamber on Saturday and Sunday (25 and 26 February), explaining that this patronage will add a more vivid image to the Forum, and gives an
additional push to the Forum success in achieving its goals in raising the level of economic
activity in Qatif.

Ataishan said that the patronage of His Highness the Prince of the Eastern
Province for this event and other activities of Asharqia Chamber is another proof of the government concern in the activities of the private
sector, and its keenness for the success
of its activities and improving its
activities, and all this serves the (Kingdom vision 2030) aiming to further partnership between
the public and private sectors to serve the one entity, which is our country and the
national economy. This no doubt stresses the centrality of the formal concern
of the private sector, as this sector represents of the readiness for further
growth and development and the ability to share the country in bearing the
great improvement burden.
He
said that the Prince god bless him has always cared and followed the daily activities events
of the private sector, stressing the keenness and seriousness of the
wise government in the concern for this sector, and
opening up more prospects for work and investment for it, with the wide reformations
in the country, especially economically.
He
pointed that the investment environment of Eastern region in general is moving in an
escalating pace, moving rapidly, considering what the region posses of tremendous
natural resources, mostly oil and gas, and the content of the industrial projects and a giant strategy,
and as Qatif is a part of the Eastern Region and a part of these resources
which is reflected on the economic situation of the province, may be different
from the environment in Dhahran, Jubail, Dammam and Khobar, but the location
between these developed cities economically makes it a major player in the growth
and development process, in the country in
general, by the vision projects and the programs of the national transformation,
etc.
He
stressed that the prospects for investment in Qatif are promising, and will find a big space to
study, research and discuss within the forum sessions, which the scientific
committee in charge of organizing the Forum has determined among a group of topics
that will be discussed most prominently (the
present and the future of investment in the province of Qatif in the fields of:
(information technology, alternative energy, tourism, heritage and
conferences), it will also discuss issues related to social responsibility in
companies, and economic empowerment of women.
He
mentioned that the first day of the forum is allocated to the establishment of
a number of related workshops to invest in Qatif dealing with topics (business
pioneering, human resources, and business development), while the second day
will discuss a number of working papers and topics that serve the ways to improve
investment in the province in the various industrial, commercial and service
fields.
Al
Ataishan stressed the importance of partnership between the public and private
sectors, which will be reflected in the dialogues of the Forum. He pointed that
the forum will witness the participation of a number of experts and
specialists, businessmen and government officials from the Kingdom and the Gulf.
For
his part, head of the branch of Asharqia Chamber in Qatif and a member of the board
of directors of the Chamber Abdul Muhsen Al Faraj said that the forum in its
second year, will include a number of important events, which will contribute to
the development of the economic activity in the province of Qatif, as it will show
19 special
investment projects estimated at a total value of about
two billion riyals, expected to generate about
4000 jobs in the local economy. He also praised the interaction of businessmen
in the province with the idea of the forum.
He
pointed that the investment prospects in the province of Qatif are promising, many
and useful, and that the businessmen interaction in the eastern region to
invest in valuable projects seems encouraging and motivating, and the concern in
this scheme by the His Highness the Prince of the Eastern Province, God bless him,
assures the success of this event to be held for the second time, and arouses
the optimism in more activities that support the improvement of the economic
progress, the country witnessing In
general, and the eastern region in particular, and in Qatif specially.
